What are the 5 scrum ceremonies?

Scrum ceremonies are the set of activities that every scrum team performs to help them see their work from start to finish.

The five scrum ceremonies are:

  1. The sprint planning meeting (SPM)

The print planning meeting is a weekly meeting that includes representatives from all departments within your business. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the goals for the upcoming week and make decisions about how those goals will be accomplished.

  1. The daily scrum (DSM)

The daily scrum is a meeting where team members get together to discuss their progress on the project and make sure everyone is on the same page.

During this meeting, each member of the team provides an update on what they've been working on, any obstacles they've encountered, and what they plan to accomplish next.

  1. The sprint review (SR)

The sprint review is a meeting that happens at the end of every sprint. It's a chance for the team to show off what they've accomplished during the sprint and get feedback from their product owner, stakeholders, or other team members.

The sprint review is an opportunity for people on the team to see what has been built over the course of the sprint, demonstrate how it works, and get feedback from others on whether it's useful, enjoyable to use and understand, and whether it solves the problems it was designed to address.

  1. The sprint retrospective (SRR)

The sprint retrospective is a meeting that takes place at the end of each sprint (a period of time during which a team completes a project). The meeting is meant to allow the team to reflect on how they did, identify areas for improvement, and set goals for the next sprint.

  1. The backlog grooming session

The Backlog Grooming Session is a meeting where you and your team will come together to prioritize the tasks in your backlog, decide on how to split them up amongst your team members, and identify how much time it will take to complete each task.

This is an important meeting because it allows you to see what tasks are most important and helps you understand how long each one will take to complete. This information can be used to make sure your team is making progress without suffering from burnout or wasting time on tasks that are not as important.
